The 2015 Opera as Drama workshop, led by Sherrill Milnes, begins in New York on February 8. Led by Sherrill Milnes, the career development intensive is a week of dramatic study for the emerging professional singer. Held at the National Opera Center, the program works on music from the perspective of text and allows young performers to expand their dramatic range.
The program culminates in a public concert on February 14, when emerging artists of the VOICExperience program present dramatic readings and their operatic scene equivalents, taking audiences from spoken word to musical moment as a study of storytelling on the operatic stage. The concert also takes place at the National Opera Center and begins at 12:30pm.
