On March 20 and 22, the Savannah Voice Festival presents a Puccini double-bill in partnership with the Savannah Music Festival at the Lucas Theatre for the Arts. The works are presented in celebration of SVF Artistic Director Sherrill Milnes’s 80th birthday.
Véronica Villarroel and Mark Delavan star in the respective title roles, joined by the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor Eugene Kohn. Joachim Schamberger directs both one-act operas, which form two-thirds of Puccini’s celebrated Il Trittico. These opening-weekend performances also mark the first full-scale operas performed in Savannah Music Festival history.
